Advent Day #2

Today we read Luke 1:5-25 for our devotional. The angel Gabriel came to Zacharias and told him that he and his wife Elisabeth would have a son. Because of Zacharias’ unbelief he was unable to talk the entire time his wife was pregnant. Of course, we know his son was to be named John. We made angels today as our craft. We have some interesting Gabriel’s, that’s for sure!

Ryan’s angel is a cross between Gabriel and a turkey.
Why? I have no idea. He’s a boy. . .

Grace was making her angel at the time of this picture.
I’ll take a picture of her completed angel and add it later.

Here’s Nathan’s angel.
It’s umm, interesting. πŸ™‚

Of course, I am making crafts right along with the kids.
Easy, but fun! We’ve all been enjoying this time in the morning.
A more Christ focused Christmas is our goal.
We often get lost in the hubbub of it all and forget
the true meaning of this time of year.
Celebrating Jesus.
His birth and His death
and finally His Resurrection!

  1. My kids are crazy! πŸ™‚ I am all bundled up in sweat pants and sweat shirt and my hands/feet freeze. We have our temp set to 70 in the day and 68 at night. We just bumped our heat back a couple degrees for both day and night (was 72/70). We're bracing for the electric rates to skyrocket after the end of this year when the rate caps come off.
