This morning I was reading my devotional from Charles Stanley (In Touch Ministries) that I receive each day in my email. He talked about how we are always trying to rush through everything in life instead of waiting on God (I am guilty). We needlessly exhaust ourselves instead of focusing on Him and what He wants us to do or not do. Dr. Stanley said, “Align your pace with His, and take the energy He freely offers to those who walk obediently in His will.”
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I’m thankful for the reminders from God’s Word, and from devotionals, and from Christian friends that help me to keep my focus on where it should be – on God. A friend of mine suggested a study on how eagles fly and how it really opens up this passage of Scripture, so that is going on my list of something to study!
