Weekend in Review

Our weekend was a really good one! They always go so fast when Eric is home for an extra day! 🙂 Friday we went to Rogers’ Flea Market in Rogers, Ohio. I, unfortunately, didn’t get any pictures of anything, but we did see a neat and also scary sights!

The scary sight was first thing in the morning. We were driving just outside of New Castle and this mini van was in front of us. Eric says “Watch this.” So I looked up and low and behold the front right driver’s side wheel came off and bounced across the highway. Thankfully the man driving was just fine and pulled his van over safely and no one was coming down the road at that moment. Had that happened it could have gotten ugly! Eric had kept an eye on where the wheel went, so he got out and showed the guy. The guy had AAA, so he called them and was all gone by the time we made our way back from Rogers. God was definitely with that entire situation, no one was hurt or anything else!

On the way home we were passing in front of Butler Fairshow Grounds and there is an ice cream shop on the right side, the fairgrounds on the left. Anyway, there were about 15 Amishmen standing there eating ice cream cones. It would have been a perfect picture, but I missed it!

Yesterday, being the 4th of July, we just hung around home for a while trying to decide what to do. We ended up going to Eric’s parents for trail rides in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun! First all the boys went, then Grace and I got to go on round 2. I got some cute animal and scenic pictures from our adventures there. I’ll add a few of them shortly.

Today we went to church and got to hear and participate in some really good singing. We also heard some letters from a couple of the founders. What a brave bunch of men that stood up for what they believed. I was moved with Patrick Henry’s speech and how he dramatized his “Give me liberty or give me death” speech. I’ll have to find this stuff and post it. It’s good to go back to the founding fathers and see what things they struggled with in those days, and how we are in much the same struggle today.
The rest of today has been hanging around home and eating ribs and just relaxing! I love Sundays! God and family, it’s a perfect day!
Sorry the pictures are kind of scattered. I will add more July 4th pics, or you can check them out on my facebook page! 🙂
